We have been travelling to the red rock country of southern Utah for many years and have thought it would be nice to see it peeking out under snow. So in January Susan and Cliff took that trip which included Monument Valley on up to the Moab area. In Moab we missed out on Arches NP due to the government shutdown; even so there was plenty of scenic red rock dressed with white to see and photograph. We took a 4 wheel drive road up a scenic canyon which has a number of creek crossings. The creek was iced over and previous vehicles had broken through the ice, which made for some slipping and sliding at each of the crossings. It was quite a surprise to see the Colorado River iced over in places.
